Adult Safe Hockey League: Est. 1995
Since 1995, the Adult Safe Hockey League has steadily developed into what has become the premier destination for adult recreational hockey. With over 80,000 registered players each year, the ASHL is played out of 18 facilities across Canada and the United States. The ASHL remains committed to our player and aims to ensure that our players are able to participate in safe, fun and well managed hockey leagues regardless of age or skill level!
The ASHL as we know it actually began as a small 200 team league that was purchased by Canlan Ice Sports back in 1995. The early years saw the formalization of many of the rules and processes which have become staples of the modern era ASHL.
By the 99/00 season, the ASHL had already expanded to over 2,000 teams as the league's reach spanned from Toronto, to Vancouver, to Kansas City, to Michgan. As the league continued to grow, new processes were introduced to ensure the ASHL continued to offer the best experience in Rec Hockey. With regional and national championships, unparalleled prizing, prime icetimes, and more, the ASHL quickly built a reputation as the top adult recreational hockey league in North America.
Over the past decade, the ASHL has continued to pride itself on its unique product offerings and competitive advantages that an international league like the ASHL is able to offer. The ASHL currently has over 4,000 registered teams across Canada and the United States, making us far and away the biggest adult recreational hockey league in the world! As we continue to draw nearer to our 20th year of operations, we're continuing to set the bar high as we develop new strategies to provide our players with new and exciting ways to enjoy the game we all love!
